Albert Cuyp Market

The biggest daily market in Europe

Where do you find the true Amsterdam humor, the Amsterdam atmosphere and the ambiance? Right on the Albert Cuyp! A day of Amsterdam is not complete without visiting the most popular market in the Netherlands! The ‘Cuyp’ has been in existence since 1905 and has remained unmatched for the ordinary Amsterdammer for over 100 years, for bargain hunters, strollers, daymen, tourists .. for who not?

Fresh vegetables, fruits, fish, flowers and plants: you will find them on the Albert Cuyp. But also beautiful fabrics, trendy clothes, textiles, fine leather goods and jewelry.  Take a nice pickle at the viskar or pick up a bag of fresh straw waffles for home. A cup of coffee drinks you in an old-fashioned cozy coffee house or in a super modern café. The statue of André Hazes is on the corner and the Eerste Sweelinckstraat.
With 260 stands, the Albert Cuyp is Europe’s largest daily market. A place you do not get excited about soon.

The Albert Cuypmarkt is located in the midst of the 19th century Amsterdam district De Pijp: the Quartier Latin of Amsterdam. Especially in recent decades De Pijp is very popular as a residential area. The numerous exotic shops, creative and crafty businesses and the cozy cafés and restaurants give the neighborhood a lively and varied character. The Albert Cuyp is a stone’s throw from the Heineken Experience and a 10-minute walk from the Rijksmuseum.
